We were delighted to host an incredible day of learning and collaboration at the Kent Festival of Physics on Saturday, 15th March, at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Faversham. The event brought together passionate teachers, technicians, and exhibitors, sharing knowledge, innovative ideas, and best practices for teaching physics.
The day was packed with engaging and informative sessions, covering everything from practical teaching strategies to hands-on activities. Our attendees had the chance to choose from a wide range of sessions designed to enhance their knowledge and confidence in teaching physics. You can see some photo highlights of the day below.
One of the highlights of the day was the keynote address by Sir Martyn Poliakoff and his son Simon Poliakoff. Both experts in the field, they shared how teachers can use videos to support teaching, making complex physics concepts more accessible and engaging for students.
The day ended on a high note with a fantastic TeachMeet session, where a handful of attendees shared quick, impactful examples of how they are using AI to enhance their physics teaching. We also held a raffle, with generous prizes donated by our exhibitors.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event such a resounding success. We are deeply grateful for the support of Christina Astin and James Bennett, whose superb organisation made the event run smoothly. A special mention to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Faversham, for generously hosting us in their wonderful facilities and providing a delicious curry lunch.
We are also extremely grateful to The Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust for their ongoing support of our work across Kent. Finally, a big thank you to all of our exhibitors and sponsors:
