Interactive CPD Sessions for Non-Specialists and Early Career Teachers

In partnership with The ASE, we have launched a programme of 10 interactive online physics subject-knowledge sessions spread over the academic year. Targeted particularly at non specialists and early career teachers, each session, lasting 90 minutes, will delve into core physics concepts for GCSE success, providing both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching strategies. Our expert trainers, Christina Astin and Andrea Mapplebeck, bring years of experience and a deep passion for physics education, ensuring that you will receive a welcoming and supportive opportunity to enhance your teaching.

You can choose to attend all ten sessions or select the ones most relevant to your needs. This customisable approach allows you to tailor your professional development to best suit your curriculum confidence and areas for development. Sessions will also be recorded for access until August 2025 so you can take advantage of the support when you need it most.  By signing up for all 10 sessions you and your department can benefit from an on-demand bank of subject-knowledge support. ASE Members benefit from discounted rates and you can also save by booking multiple sessions.

We’re excited to offer a CPD programme that not only enhances teachers’ understanding of physics but also empowers them with practical strategies to make their lessons more engaging and effective. By addressing common misconceptions and connecting big ideas across the field, these sessions can help you to plan and prepare impactful learning with confidence.

The interactive sessions mean teachers can bring their own ideas and challenges to the table, making this a truly collaborative and enriching professional development experience. We want teachers to leave each session feeling more confident and inspired to transform their classrooms.
