Renewable Energy Apprentice (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: Competitive Apprentice Wage
Duration: 2-4 years (depending on programme)
Hours: 40 hours/week (Full-time) including College

Role overview:

We are seeking a motivated renewable energy apprentice with a keen interest in electrical engineering to join our established apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage solutions, EV charging systems and other cutting-edge technologies. You will learn practical skills while earning nationally-recognised qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance and commissioning of renewable energy systems including solar PV and battery storage solutions
  • Learn to conduct electrical tests and inspections
  • Support senior engineers in diagnosing and resolving system faults
  • Participate in site inspections and feasibility studies, contributing to project design and planning
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient use
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science Grade 4/C or above The role would also suit post A-level applicants as a potential route to university courses in Engineering.
