Year 12 Short Video Competition – 2026

In autumn 2025, we asked year 12 students to explore the fascinating world of physics and enter our exciting physics competition. This was a fantastic opportunity for young minds to unleash their creativity while while exploring topics that ignited their curiosity. We were thrilled to receive entries from over 80 schools, each brimming with innovative perspectives and insights. Our esteemed panel of judges faced the daunting task of selecting the top 10 teams, evaluating videos based on their content, creativity, and clarity.

The Overall Winning Team!

The competition climax was the prize ceremony held at King’s College, Cambridge on 1st April, where the top 10 teams presented their videos to a distinguished panel. Amidst anticipation, the overall winning team was unveiled – congratulations to Lily from The Sixth Form College Farnborough! Her remarkable achievement earned her the coveted prize of an unforgettable trip to CERN in Switzerland. Lily, along with a couple of her physics classmates and teacher, will delve into the depths of particle physics, exploring the world’s largest particle physics laboratory.

The Top Ten teams in 2026!

There were some stellar prizes up for grabs for the remaining 9 shortlisted teams. Every team member will receive Amazon vouchers, and their schools will be granted £500 towards enhancing their physics equipment. We hope you enjoy watching the videos from these brilliant young Physicists.
