Support Physics Partners: Empowering Physics Education in the UK

Physics Partners is dedicated to addressing the critical shortage of skilled physics teachers in the UK. Your support can make a significant difference in shaping the future of physics education and nurturing the next generation of scientists and innovators.

Why Support Us?

• There are fewer Physics Teachers in the UK than Red Pandas in the world!

• Only 17% of the target for new physics teachers was recruited in 2022/3

• More than a third of physics teachers in secondary schools are non-specialists

• The UK energy sector alone will need to recruit an additional 400,000 jobs by 2050 to reach net zero

Our Impact:

In 2023-24, we improved the physics experience for over 120,000 pupils in the UK. With your help, we can reach even more teachers and students.

How You Can Support Us:

  1. Annual Giving – Regular donations allow us to plan effectively for the future. Thanks to Gift Aid, we can claim an additional 25p for every £1 donated.
  2. Corporate Sponsorship – Support our events like physics festivals or local physics hubs. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your company and build links with schools.
  3. Legacy Giving – Leave a lasting impact by including Physics Partners in your legacy plans. Your generosity will ensure our mission continues for years to come.
  4. Grants – We’re always seeking new Trusts and Foundations aligned with our work. Multi-year grants are particularly valuable as they allow us to plan ahead.

Our Funding Goals:

Our fundraising target is £250k per year, so that we can successfully deliver our work and scale up our programs:

With your support, we can:

• Scale up our offering to reach more teachers

• Work with more multi-academy trusts

• Offer regional physics festivals in every region

• Create new physics hubs in areas of disadvantage

• Build a mentoring programme for teachers

“Thanks to the expert training from Physics Partners, physics has gone from the poorest science across our schools to the strongest science.”

– Paul Greenall, Partnerships Director, Liverpool Archdiocese Secondary Schools’ Partnership
